| This picture was taken just a few days ago. I think this is a cormorant. I saw it, or something very like it, a few days ago on a canal near the office - it dove, and stayed under for nearly a minute. Based on the color, head shape, beak shape, ability to dive, and method of diving, I'm pretty sure this is a cormorant, though none of the web articles on cormorants that I found had decent enough pictures for me to be able to tell. |
