Volume one of Preuves de l'Histoire de la Maison d'Auvergne [1] in the first chapter contains extracts from the cartulaire of Saint Aymar, abbot of Clugny, with records from the 9th and 10th centuries. This article concerns the personal names which are found in those records, which are all written in Latin. I have converted all inflected forms to their expected nominative forms; where the nominative is uncertain, I have noted this.

I have not included any information about relative frequency of the names, since many times it is impossible if the occurrence of the same name in different charters is a reference to the same person or not. Names of saints have been omitted.
